Oh bugger . . . sorry to hear about that.

I have never had any bad luck with any of my EHX products.

Here's something outside the mainstream, a Metal Pedals "Raw Hide" Overdrive/Distortion with "Kick" switch. There's a couple or so Youtube clips out there if you want to check one out, not sure if it would be "metal enough" for you though. There's a naughty girl version, and then there's one for us married guys (lol), as shown on my pedalboard here:

IDK if that one would fit for what the OP specifically asked for.

The Blackstone is a quasi-two channel OD - neither "channel" is really a boost.

When I think of someone asking for a 2-in-1 like this, I tend to think of something like a TS paired with a Micro Amp. It could obviously get more esoteric, with a LPB-1 paired with an Overdriver, or a SHO paired with a V1 Bluesbreaker.

Or, it could be something like a FDII, which has a "psuedo-boost" function - the boost is simply more drive dialed in to a single OD circuit.

But I really think of the Blackstone as more like a 2 channel amp, with no true separate boost mode.

IMO, and not to undermine that it's a great pedal.

My favorites with 2 overdrive channels and boost as an option on either channel are the Carl Martin AC Tone and Plexitone Pedals, I can cover just about anything with these 2 pedals, add in the compressor and the para pre amp EQ and there isnt much left to want for.

Alot of guys complain about the dedicated power cables but I dont know why that would be an issue, just lay down a power strip and you have power and a surge protector, other than maybe having to convert for over seas use I honestly dont understand why its an issue for some, also because of the 12 volts these pedals sound huge with alot more headroom than your typical 9volt pedals making these more like a real amp than a pedal.

You wont get extreme metal but I dont know of any one pedal that covers everything well.

Im still shocked that these are mentioned so little, especially considering the price of some overdrives on the market these days.

BYOC OD-2 sounds nice; but doesn't do distortion levels.

I'd have to go with the ZVex Box Of Rock. Great, great pedal.

Does the Fulltone Fulldrive 2 act as a boost on its own as well without having the overdrive on?

Anyone have feedback on hooking up a Big Muff Pi w/Tone Wicker and a FD Mosfet? I am a total newb to pedals...Looking for a solid combo, but don't need all that much fuzz.

Anything Kevin does is top notch. He custom built me a Dual Lotus 2 the way I wanted it awhile back. One of the best OD pedals I've ever owned.
