Sounds like a term the original punks would've loathed. Probably would have caused them to beat themselves with their own guitars... which would've been very punk.

Maybe, I always thought New Wave was Post Punk but apparently not... Wikipedia has The Pretenders listed as New Wave and The Police as Post Punk... Baffled, and given my age, I really ought know this stuff
there were a lot of gang of three bands.
you know, gang of four, but not as good.
Its basically early indie/garage rock but also overlaps with a lot of other stuff
