This may be off base but why can't we have a user poll of best new thread of the day? Arguably it could also be determined by the number of posts on the thread but that could also be misleading in that the thread could also be contentious and result in some posts disappearing whereever they dissappear to.

Anyone on board with something like this?

Don't we kind of have this already ( informally of course) just by what thread subject is kept current constantly, through the day>week>month>, just by folks keeping it alive with posting?

It's a cool idea, but it sounds like work to administrate... ( organize/ present the threads of the day/ cutoff time, then results)
That's just my thinking

The most active threads should appear at the top of the New Posts page, right? What more do you need to know?

EDIT: Actually, after posting this and refreshing the browser, this thread did not rise to the top of the New Posts page. The Mods need to work on this.

Here's an idear.

Imagine if the emojis included "chef's kiss"...
chefs-kiss-french-chef.gif

... and the forum gave you a summary of what recent threads had what emojis

When would the day begin? We have members in New Zealand, Australia, Asia, Europe, North and South America, and Hawaii, and other Pacific islands too I’m sure. And then, the day is longer in New Zealand right now. No fair.
