Best new thread of the day

This may be off base but why can't we have a user poll of best new thread of the day? Arguably it could also be determined by the number of posts on the thread but that could also be misleading in that the thread could also be contentious and result in some posts disappearing whereever they dissappear to.

Anyone on board with something like this?

Threads would be appearing as the poll rolled on. How about best of yesterday's threads? But then it would be yesterday's news

Or cheeky forum members would write things like, "the best thread today that doesn't refer to itself has got to be ... this one ... DURN?!".

Don't we kind of have this already ( informally of course) just by what thread subject is kept current constantly, through the day>week>month>, just by folks keeping it alive with posting?

It's a cool idea, but it sounds like work to administrate... ( organize/ present the threads of the day/ cutoff time, then results)

EDIT: Actually, after posting this and refreshing the browser, this thread did not rise to the top of the New Posts page. The Mods need to work on this.
