Warbler. No thanks. I'm kinda glad that era has come and gone.
Hey she remembered the lyrics, that's something
In all seriousness she was an amazing talent and really knocked that out of the ballpark
OK now on to your regularly scheduled Hendrix postings ...
I didn’t mind the warbling on this one. At least she kept it moving along. Definitely one of the most memorable.
Certainly not the WORST I've ever heard, but still not my ideal version. What's wrong with a straight up, military band version?
Or something simple like this?
Absolutely the most abhorrent and disrespectful national anthem I’ve ever witnessed. There was a time when such a display would have been considered treason. The crowd was well within their own right to cascade their disdain upon her.
Sorry, best version ever....
Many have attempted to rework the classic version, with mixed results. It's challenging to reinvent a song with a lot of history behind it.
Jimi's interpretation stands as a testament to his musical genius and guitar chops.
Whitney Houston's version was awesome on many levels.
Reharmonized, played in 4/4, arranged beautifully, and sung powerfully.
Stands along side Prince's Super Bowl halftime performance as the standard by which all others are judged.
Roseanne was an embarrassment to herself and the country that night. I am sorry this is included here. It is disrespectful.
Nicely done. I've never seen that one before.
Superbowl XXV all the way. IMO best version - though lip-synched. Took my kids out of schoolFriday before the game and went to the Tampa Hyatt - met most of the Giants - kids were thrilled - never forgot it.
By far the best version. Nothing has nor ever will come close. Seminal and cathartic at the same time.
Makes ballpark renditions almost meaningless in comparison.
