a lot of back and forth on who was the best Bond so why not a thread about the best Bond villain and henchman. for villain I gotta go with Blofeld. He is in more films than any other villain and comes up with some really diabolical stuff. He also runs SPECTRE. Quite the resume.

For henchman I’d have to go with a tie between Jaws who is seemingly indestructible, and Grace Jones as Mayday. She was awesome and I will not say anything about how she met her end in case you haven’t seen the movie.

Odd Job and Jaws are the first I thought about. As far as girls names, (I know, another thread) in addition to the those named, I like Chew Me!

Some good ones out there, but I always liked Rosa Klebb. Not so much that she was a great villainess (well, she was, I guess), but because she was also a major figure in 1930s drama. Plus, she’s referenced in “Mack the Knife”.

Here’s one of her performances from way back - it should be somewhat recognizable to many of you.

I didn't think of her until I saw your post, but YES! She's evil, as well as kinky and perverse. In a movie released in 1963. "From Russia with Love" is my favorite Connery Bond and one of favorite Bonds overall.

Donald Pleasance has the best Blofeld look in "You Only Live Twice" -- obviously copped by Mike Myers for "Austin Powers" -- but he's not given much to play. The movie also has the best villain's lair, but it is stiff and rather plodding, which I feel are characteristics shared to one degree or other by the other Bond films directed by Lewis Gilbert, "Thunderball" and "The Spy Who Loved Me." I much prefer the directorial sensibilities of Terence Young and Guy Hamilton.

Books or movies?

In the books, definitely Dr. No, with Le Chiffre as runner up.

In the movies, gotta go with Goldfinger, and runner up is Le Chiffre in the most recent version of Casino Royale.

Yaphet Kotto, Mr. Big in Live and Let Die

I'm a big fan of Yaphet Kotto in general.....he could play "menacing" as well as "funny".
The problem I had with the Live and Let Die film was Jane Seymour. If I remember, in the book Solitaire was "mixed-race".....and poor Jane is as white-bread as they come. :)
