Any American trying to sound like an Aussie. It's the inflections of the vowels that they don't get right.
I think our accent is a mix of east end convicts and Irish.

I was working in Aylesbury in England for a month years ago supporting a rollout of our inventory tracking system at a local logistic center there. I kept hearing about an employee there who did an incredible US southern drawl accent. Finally one day I happened to be working by this guy and his colleagues were prodding him to show me. He does the accent but it sounded terrible! Basically a British accent with some slight alteration that sounded nothing like a southern drawl. “What do you think?” they were asking me .. I responded “um.. sort of but not really…” lots of laughter - good times. Later at the pub, I was helping him practice a more authentic drawl. :D

In Invictus with Morgan Freeman (Nelson Mandela) and Matt Damon (South African rugby player) I thought they weren't very convincing with their accents.
Another one is Leo's in Blood Diamond. Mind you we have 11 official languages, so I'm not really sure what a typical South African is supposed to sound like anyway.

I always thought the accent they all speak in Cabot Cove, (except for Angela Lansbury) was most odd, but might it be real?

And the accent they all speak in Fargo, again I'm told it's real.

Regional accents can be tricky, they're so diverse. I remember when I moved 11 miles north of Detroit as a kid. A girl I was sweet on asked me in class "are you from a different country?" lol. I grew up with Polish parents and grandmother and lived in a highly Polish/Italian neighborhood. I gleaned a bit of the "da" instead of "the". Da Bearss! That community was also a quickly transforming farming one to suburbia and many of the people were southern transplants. Culture shock from an 11 mile move.

I certainly assumed he was American until read a story about him however many years ago.

I liked Knives Out and Daniel Craig would've been fine in the lead role, had he dumped the southern accent. It was pretty bad.

I'm surprised how well English actors do American accents, they sound completely legit to me usually.

I like the Daniel Craig character. I think the accent fit the part. Accuracy isn't always the best.

Anybody trying to do a Boston accent. Especially South Boston. "The Town, Mystic River, The Depaahtid". 😉
