My favorite right now is Snooze's Familiaris... what've you been into?
It's hard for me to listen to 40 minutes to an hour of almost any artist recording these days. The last two albums I've bought are Kacey Musgraves Golden Hour in 2018 and Don Henley's Cass County in 2015. I listen to music every day and I can listen to Linda Ronstadt for hours on end. There's plenty of recently released music that I listen to, but I haven't found an album I'd care to play beginning to end released this year.
Ronstadt is certainly timeless! Update us if there are any new releases that do really hook you.
I cannot stop listening to the new Gary Clark Jr album - its brilliant! So many influences all wrapped up in this album.
Cool! Ya definately unique blend of different styles.
Arlen Roth - Telemasters is my choice.
Dark Side of the Moon, by the British pop group, Pink Floyd.
(formerly the Pink Floyd Sound, and also known as "The Tea Set")
Emminently danceable and sounds good in headphones, could be a big hit.
Seems a bit early in the year but Encore by The Specials. I’ll be fairly surprised if I’ve changed that by the end of the year.
I'm hoping to get mine out this year yet
Snarky Puppy: Immigrance
Wasn't aware they still made albums.
I hadn’t listened to any 2019 albums that I can recall, so I had to wiki it. Not much to get excited about on the list for me except the Hayes Carll record that I missed coming out in Feb. I’ll be checking that one out.
2018 per his website, but I need to check that one out as well.
Another vote for Gary Clark Jr. I'm finding it extraordinarily difficult to get bored of this album. My girlfriend digs it too, which doesn't happen often with us.
Rhiannon Giddens/Francesco Turrisi
Awesome surf/psych from SoCal. Love this band. They are pure class.
”Best Album of 2019?”
It’s only early June, I’m still workin on it
If you mean vinyl albums, they never stopped making them
Haven't seen any new shellac albums recently, though:
Rival Sons - Feral Roots
Also just discovered a 2 man band from Austin Texas - Black Pistol Fire. Got to admire a drummer who can play with one hand while doing the bass line on keyboards with the other.
