Bought this last week but didn’t want to do a thread because I wasn’t sure if I was going to keep it.

I was really torn on this. I had an AO50 that i sold to find another purchase. It was sounding a bit thin even though it was the best tele I’ve ever felt. I wanted something more ballsy.
Got a Vintera 50, but the blandness is sonic blue and the anemic pickups bothered me. The neck was good though.

found a player series brand new for a few hundred off street price and thought I’d give her a go. Loved the color, but was worried as it’s the lowest priced of the fender brand.

it looks gorgeous! At first I wasn’t sure what to make, but over time the neck started to feel real good. The pickups are amazing (even though I bought some SD La Brea’s to put in with a 4 way switch when that arrives) and sound as good as the PV52’s in my old AO50.

I was shocked when going over this guitar. The neck is covered in birds eye Maple! I tried to get photos but it’s dark outside. Did my best to capture it though.

even though I’m a huge fan of the three saddle bridge, I’m finding the block saddles to be very comfortable.

only thing I might change out would be the timers for the vintage style.
Here she is in Tidepool blue (more of a greenish gray, VERY hard to photograph.
Oh yeah, each photo has a second pickguard so I’d like opinions on which looks better

My avatar, my favourite MiM, has a beautifully subtle flame in the maple. Sometimes good things happen.

    I like the whiter pickguard.

Good to hear, horax. I've been checking out the Player Series Tele's, too, and I'm really liking what I see AND hear. If I can find a clean, used one, in 3TSB or BSB, and in the 7-7.5 pounds range, I'd be happy to give it a new home.

Looks great, congratulations. My Vintera 60s mod has birdseye on the neck, which looks great, yours looks really nice too.

Cool, I love my player series in sunburst. I have been eyeballing a tidepool at my local guitar store, too! I vote for the original pickguard. I put a black one on mine but I am going to be going back to the original white.

Nice, man. I didn't used to care for it, but I'm starting to develop a taste for birdseye.

What's the diff btw the pick guards?

One is stock and one isn’t. the stock one is supposed to be mint, but looks quite white. The other is off a MIM standard and is off white.

    Not much diff

I would think the mint would be a good look with that. But I'm no expert.
