I have never played any of the tributes. Both my Classic S and the Classic in red have rather large chunky necks. The Classics in green and sonic blue have rather thin necks as you say. The sonic blue one plays a little nicer than the others to me, maybe it’s just me.

Really like your playing (prolly on any guitar!)

Hey, thanks for the info and kind words - highly appreciated. I guess I'll have to try some US models to see how they feel.

Nicely played and a great blues tone. Thanks.

    And what great song...
written by the great Ellas McDaniel aka Bo Diddley!

Love the John Fogerty version. And the Clapton of course.
But its hard to go past the 1957 version...
I think by the time we did it when I had the good fortune to tour as Bo's bass player, c1978, he had the solo down! :) So much rock'n'roll energy, and better live, of course.

Thanks so much for sharing and triggering the memory!

Hey! Thank you, it's amazing you had an honour to tour with Bo, what a legacy...

Yes, - such an honour. Learnt so much - as a 20 year old upstart, (he seemed ancient as a 50 year old rocker!) what a brilliant lesson on 'get in the pocket' and groove... and what an entertainer from a bygone era. So annoying that he, like so many others, got ripped off.

Ah, Ljubljana.... you Eastern Europeans know how to groove... there is so much to be learnt from your folk music - which I love!

That G&L sounds great - but to frank, it's the player and knowing how to pull a sound that is 90% of the battle.

    na zdravje.

    You sound great buddy.
I love this tune, is there anyway you would post it as a backing track for the gaggle of jammers we have here, it would be great fun, and you would get a second go at it, or third, or forth...

I love the Special, it has a beautiful bell tone quality to its clean sound, it's a unique tone, but total Fender character. And the heavier blues tones are what this guitar works best with imo.

The guitar's biggest fail is that it can't sound like a rockabilly Tele.
Oh well, get the right tool for the job. I would say the regular Tele is more versatile but no better sounding, I will never sell this guitar, never, but I want a regular Tele with custom pups, I'd be totally happy with a true G&L like the OPs. But $$$.
