Another of my fave beers. There's nuthin like the Kwak.
I will drink anything out of a Piggly Wiggly glass.
First choice for a quality beer, I'll take a chilled pint glass for certain.
quick beer from the bottle is ok.
Canned? I'd have to be desperate.
fancy glass? C'mon. I'm 60 not 16.
It tastes better out of a glass but not out of a glass bottle. If my choices are bottle or can I’ll take the can.
Seems like a couple of Guitar Forums could get a whole lot of folks caught in that same net? Lol.
For y'all: Best to get educated on beer, by brewing your own. Five gallons at a time.
Best Quote: "Don't Worry, Have A Homebrew!"
Cans have the aluminum problem but there is also the trace of crimping oil when the top is locked down to the base after filling. Cans may also have a plastic coating on the inside that is not BPA grade plastic.
Glass bottles have the plastic/rubber material under the cap for sealing which also presents some BPA type of possible concerns.
Plastic bottles have the plastic problem all over.
Forget the beer, the Piggly Wiggly caught my eye. I thought that was defunct 40 years ago.
I like Mass market local brews like National Bohemian, Iron City, Lone Star. Narragansett, Olympia. Best is from the bottle out of a cooler full of ice and water.
Glasses should always be used when drinking indoors with ladies present.
So I guess this is frowned on.
And the best beer, is the beer that's free.
Unfortunately, I can't find a link to Mr. Pink and The Fuzzy Wigglies 'The Beer Song'. You'd love it.
I drink great beers out of the can, out of the bottle, whatever. I’ve got nice glasses (including the one in my avatar...that was the world-class Dreadnaught in a big mug) but usually the can or bottle is plenty sufficient!
No, I'm a results oriented drinker as well.
I usually pour out wheat beers and some more complex, slow-drinking ales. But I have no problem with slugging a Mexican lager with a lime shoved in the neck. It's beer elitism which puts me off the whole thing. Brewpubs are the worst breeding grounds for beardy hipster elitists. No thanks.
They closed many of them because the family sold out. The only ones that remain are the individual owners. I know because Piggly Wiggly started in Charleston. They are legendary here. From what I hear when they sold off to Harris Teeter and Bi Lo they shafted their employees on their profit sharing benefits.
The owner's mansion has two brass pigs at the entrance. No kidding, and very cool.
I gotta be in a pretty bad mood to frown at a beer.
Once in a blue moon, I'll swing back a couple of these... Saw Roy Buchanan drinking one during a show on youtube! So much for role models lol.
LOL, at 16 I would have licked Budweiser from a low spot in the sidewalk. Probably did. At 63, I enjoy beer from a whole 'nuther perspective. I enjoy having quirky glassware...and I like being able to look at the beer I'm drinking. I used to be the guy who thought the perfect pour was not missing my gullet. Now I want to watch the head lace the side of the glass.
I drink from the bottle. I drink from cans. Pints, snifters, stemware, stoneware...its all good iffin you like it.
Meh. Ain't nuthin but a thing.
Just now unloaded the wife’s car full of groceries fresh from “The Pig”.
Speaking of Piggly Wiggly:
I’ve got a couple of Pilsner glasses and a couple of pint glasses.
If the beer won’t go into one of those I don’t need it.
I’m not beyond drinking out of the bottle or can, it sure works.
Bring a "tulip glass" out on a fishing trip, and see what happens.
