Alcohol decreases your high frequency hearing capacity (ever try to work on music while drinking? ice pick city the next time you open the session up). but it can make you play better in moderation. solution: set the sound up before you drink and don’t mess with it once you’ve put a few back.

Beer goggling your tone probably isn’t wise.

I both write and play better after a few tokes and 20 minutes to allow for "zone maturity".

I play better when I'm not as drunk as a lot of Thinkle Peop...

As an aside, I think this is a good honest review of Milwaukee light beer.

This is my 57 year old aunts go to beer. You can catch her at 9 am on Wednesday rolling around in a golf cart with 2 cases ready to tackle the day.

To me it taste like urine.

When I quit drinking, several things improved dramatically—my playing and my marriage, specifically.

However, the president of the Miller Brewing Company called me and said, “You can’t do this to me—I have kids in college!

    23+ years sober.

He was counting on you, and thought you'd never leave. You callous clod, how could you do that? Now you'll end up living to be 117 years old, that'll teach you!

There’s no way alcohol makes you better at anything. What it does is make you want more alcohol and before long you don’t notice how bad you’re playing. Unfortunately, no one else fails to notice.

    My playing tone? No.

My singing tone? Yes, to a point, especially if it’s stout.. But that point goes whooshing past in a song or two if I don’t leave it at about 1.5 beers.

I would tell the crowd at gigs that the more they drank, the better we played

Hey congratulations on the sobriety. I’m at 15 years and change. Things didn’t quite work out on the marriage front for me, but I’m glad I was sober to handle it.
