A good "home" amp is a THD Univalve. You can roll tubes all day, play into different cab loads, line out, and a built in Hotplate attenuator.

My first and immediate thought( and I like Crate amps) was "seller has a load of something ..."

The one watt Blackstar HT1R is all tube, has clean and dirty tones and it has Reverb. I bought this one used for $120. I play it into a Carvin 2 x 12 and it sounds full and beautiful but not too loud. I’d look for one on eBay or Reverb.com.

image.jpeg One is a bedroom amp with a headphone jack, the other will peel all the paint off the bedroom wall.

Ha! Ha! I was just going to post that I can use either my Champ or my Boogie Mark IIa in the bedroom. Both sound good at reasonable volumes. Both can get loud, too. But, yes, only the Boogie can peel paint!

"Bedroom amp". Cue eyerolls of every Significant Other, everywhere.

Buy multi-effects. Buy headphones. Keep them in the garage.

Once a month, load up the stack and take it to the $15 per hour rehearsal place. Dime it. Good times!

Insisting on "moving air" through those six-and-a-half-inch speakers is no way to go through life, son.

Actually I believe a Twin would be a great bedroom amp. They sound great at any volume and you wouldn't have to be concerned about moving it.

This is the logic that I agree with every time I read ‘bedroom amp’ threads. Unless you want something that is physically tiny I will always say an amp with a master volume and higher wattage will 10/10 be more useful and sound better than the .5w-5w stuff that ends up on Craigslist.

Killer Ant. Its voiced like a Marshall. Not good for super clean. Rated at 1/4 or 1/2 W depending what you read.
Or if you like super clean a Wang. Rated at 2.5 W.
W a drive both get mildly to heavy distorted. Both sound good at low levels but can get loud enough to hurt your ears if you want more volume.
Both all tube signal path, SS rectifiers.

    My 2 cents fwiw...

    Epiphone Galaxie 10

If you can find one, they should run maybe $150-200 USD. Got mine for $100 when they were on closeout some years back now.

Good little amp with a master volume.
