    Virtually unknown blues solo - but is also one of the reasons people have always mentioned Peter Green . None of his contemporaries including Beck Page or Clapton could have even approached this solo. The space, the space, his phrasing, the space...

    You want a real underrated guitar solo? Go back and listen to My Sharona. The solo on that is absolutely freakin' killer. Same with 867-5309 (Jenny). Those two songs get no love and the solos are perpetually overlooked. Seriously, go back and listen to them. They are way, WAY better than the shoulder shrugs the songs elicit. Pretty sad, really. Those guitarists should get much bigger props than they do.

    My band just started playing My Sharona this year. That is a great solo and a ton of fun to play.

    Couldn't get excited about any of those. Nice to hear Keith doing Happy again but, otherwise?

    I thought this was a pretty fun & positive video.. I'm surprised people are finding ways to be cranky and negative about it.

    If you listened carefully these were just his picks.. he explicitly asked for your picks in the comments. It's not like he's saying these are the greatest solos of all time and your opinions are ****. He just wanted to give some attention to these.

    Solo at the 1.00 mark.
    Just gorgeous. And one of the best songs you will ever hear.

    Kind of a tough crowd here. I thought it worked pretty well as a quick look (only 10) and I “bought” his reasoning and explanations for inclusion.

    +3,000 on including “It’s Love” at the beginning. That is a condensed, focused blast of what’s cool about Ty Tabor’s playing.

    If Rick Beato did a video about underrated rhythm parts, Ty Tabor would likely be in there somewhere too, with his interesting ways of playing off the open, ringing G string.

    Maybe also include “Ah, Leah” by Donny Iris...

    Tis the season ... and cranky and negative is sort of our brand here. But its usually not nearly as cranky or negative as it seems. Mostly its just someone disagreeing with the opinions of others. Makes it more engaging than a thread of one hundred thumbs up.

    Well if you wanted to say Beato purposely titled the video in a way to make people react this way that'd probably be fair. He didn't name it "10 Underrated solos I really like" for a reason I guess.

    Controversy = more views.

    That one is such a fantastic solo. Also, I mentioned Shake it Up earlier, without posting a link, so here's that one. Solo comes in at 1:20 (or 1:33, depending on your mood). Easton's solos are so melodic. This one might be the best of them all.

    ooo yeah.....good one. Yeah that is such a killer under sung guitar break. Its really original sounding and feeling, and in such a great musical, song serving fashion. Nice, yes, The James Honeyman-Scott

    I like Beato, especially when he’s grooving to a lick. Guys who master all those licks are just astonishing.
    The Lukather piece at the end was amazing. I never heard it before.
