Yes! gulp. poor George always the little kid. It stuck in his craw. But wow how he developed wonderfully in to full fledged master next to J and P.

    Uggghhhh...

I'd be more interested in the Beatles produced by Judy Collins.

I thought you meant they were discussing a new Les Paul like they discussed new Strats then recorded "Nowhere Man" with them.

I can’t allow the thought of Jimi Hendrix “milking” any past glory. He was an artist, and a true visionary. I think he would’ve continued to shape the musical landscape.

Sorry rze99, I wasn’t meaning to hijack a great thread, thanks for posting that article!

Pretty much what I thought, too. I skimmed the article looking for “Les Paul”.

Actually after a lot of thought and consideration (Pete Townsend for example). I suspect he would have gone quite deaf reasonably quickly...thus impeding any future production by him....

That and/or he would have gone on a massive tangent to Jazz or some other non mainstream music. If not for his own personal satisfaction but to escape the presure he was under from management to tour excessively, and constantly produce main stream music to sell.

Yes, I can imagine him moving in a direction that no one would’ve expected based on his existing catalogue .

Ironic that the author states Paul implicitly disparages Taxman and While My Guitar Gently Weeps. One song which Paul plays lead, the other Eric Clapton. George came into his own with Abbey Road and "All Things Must Pass", but I agree with Paul that outside of that period George was not in the same league as Lennon or McCartney.

Its interesting, and not often discussed, that Paul was always the one who worked with George to record his songs as George became a better songwriter. Lennon couldn't be troubled to pitch in on a George number. Yet, when all the dust settled, George seemed to hate Paul and continued to make music with Lennon. Weird little brother syndrome, I guess.

This may be morphing into a favourite / least favourite Beatle debate. 50 years after it was all over!

Or maybe Jimi would do a thing kind of like Frankie Avalon did: appear in Sonic commercials and advertise the Purple Haze Value Meal, with a side of Voodoo Chili.
