Let me know if I'm pushing the copyright limits...if so, can a Mod delete this thread?... and I'll stay away from "covers" in the future.
That said... familiar tune...all recreated tracks with a "brief" exception of some vocals to give a "clue".
Open area begging for a guitar solo (slung way down low)

This one should probably go in the trash can...sorry guys.
No way! this sounds totally fun! My jazz tone and my chops are sucking!!! I’m gonna blame it all on old hands….Ha ha ha ha see how far i can get away with that… probably not out of my cul-de-sac.

There’s a Les Paul Tokai right here plugged in so I think I will give this a go.

Unless my fingertips stop me by stinging when I bend/vibrato I hope to Knock out a couple stabs at it!

Thanks and don’t sell yourself short I’ve been having fun with a lot of your offerings I just haven’t loaded up stuff!
Edit I just have to charge up my phone first-I record off of here to my 2 track Digital looper/recorder, But I can’t charge this iPhone while I use The headphone out.

I listened this morning on fresh ears and my parts stunk, ha. I’ll see if I can come up with anything better

Good energy in there! Did not find a good idea for the second half, but its fun to have a take on it :)

No I beg to differ that sounded like a whole complete new take on that, sort of sludgy, gooey, Rock candy! And the second half is way cool with those rhythmic chord stabs building up into the Outro-I think the saying is that it felt organic. B3 or no B3! Ha

Hey y'all, sorry if this is too basic or covered elsewhere, but how do you go about taking a Soundcloud link someone else has posted and record over/with it? I don't know much about recording, but I have a Focusrite 2i2 and I have recorded some small clips in Garageband.

Using those tools, what's the simplest way for joining in when folks on here record over each other's backing tracks?

I wanted to be a hero but I ended up a zero. Thank you mixmkr 2023:

Definitely not a zero there, If anything maybe a more introspective part, but man those images… if that last one was on Axe Victim, I may have had second thoughts about Be Bop Deluxe, Bill Nelson, Rock ‘n’ roll… I may have taken up the accordion instead.

Hey Heartbreker...

>Download the file by clicking on the arrow pointing downward on the SoundCloud link in the first post of these backing track threads..... The arrow is in the upper right corner of the "SoundCloud" link.
That should download the file onto your computer.

>Then open up your GarageBand and import that downloaded file into a stereo track. Now... record your stuff as you have before, adding to the downloaded file. This way you can do as many takes as you want... edit...whatever.

>Now...you'll need to mix it all together (record as many tracks as you want... I like to double guitar tracks sometimes, etc). Take your final mix file and you'll need to post it to an online file sharing site. SoundCloud is a good one for these forums..as you can see it is "deep linked" when someone posts the URL to their file... which allows for playback directly from their comment.
Others will use YouTube, (you'll need to have video file to go with it... maybe just a picture, etc?) or other places like Bandlab, BandCamp, SoundClick...or even a personal website.

What a great explanation - thank you! This stuff always looks like fun, but I just didn't know how to participate. Now I might actually be able to give it a shot sometime!

I should have probably explained the uploaded file a bit better...and my apologies for that. The 1st section, is actually the chorus vocals, leading up to the solo section.... but for fear of copyright infringement, I removed "most" of the vocals.... which in effect allowed for more space to solo over. But that wasn't my intention...but glad people are doing what flows best. The 2nd section is actually the solo section on the original, Foreigner "JukeBox Hero" track.

All that confusion spewed out... here is a take I did. I went ahead and "imitated" the vocal line in the 1st section...and the then did a loose interpretation of the Foreigner solo in the 2nd.
(I need to think things out better before posting stuff for jamming.... work in progress here!)

Your take sounds great mixmkr 2023. Thank you for the BT, no need to apologize and don't worry too much about 'thinking things out' unless that's you preference. It's interesting to hear the outcomes. Thanks again - Alan.
