    Yeah, he had some killer bass lines going on. I think his name was Alastair something, and if I recall correctly he died 10ish years ago?

    I want to mention the 4-string genius that is Norman Watt-Roy, but I'm thinking he's probably too well known.

    If we're talking punk bass players... I'll throw out a name that only hardcore punk rockers will most likely know.

    Steve Youth (Marvelli) of 7 Seconds.

    IMO, the most talented bass player that most people have never heard of.. Punk rock or otherwise.
