I have a RockRabbit angled plate on one of my Teles and it's great. Plus, the hole next to the selector is moved 1/4" away, so no problems even with the barrel. I'm probably going to change my other Tele over when I replace the pickup selector, which is going to be soon because it crackles a lot and I'm tired of spraying it all the time.

That's on my list of stuff I want to get. This really fixes the biggest flaw of the Telecaster's ergonomics. I've long wondered if Leo and his crew ever debated the placement of the controls on the control plate. I have to think someone must have said the volume control should be a little further from the pickup selector.

Using a high watt solder gun is what I use.
I show a photo of a switch in the vise, heat
the shaft with the solder gun and go little by little.
The tip might get stuck before you are finished,
so just use the heat on the shaft to release.
Heat, plunge and repeat several times but do it quickly,
so as not to get it stuck.
I follow by clearing out with a narrow blade X-Acto,
by sliding down inside and "plicking"
the recess clean!

That's the way I know, chime in could always use better ways!

I removed the "brim" with fret pullers, filed then sanded and finished off with various fine sandpaper,
great minds think alike. this is my beat up squier that I rebuilt and refinished in 2009, and continued to beat up ever since.

auto paint in a green Jaguar stock color, matte clear coat.
white pickguard, switch tip, and headstock.

You are one who thinks outside the box or, one like me
who does out of necessity!
Thanks for replying, I love this kind of stuff!

At the time I thought I was the only one.
reminds me when I told my best pal I invented the "wheel"...
then, he took me to the Goodyear store!
