¡Bueno!

What's the deal with all the guitar players I see playing barefoot? Lots of the jam band guys do so.

Do they really have that much faith in the venue electrical or crew or has technology virtually eliminated the threat of electrocution via electric guitar?

I won't touch my plugged in guitar without shoes or sandals!

Those switches on the pedals hurt my tender little size 13s when I step on the barefoot...

I wouldn't do it, if only because I hate stepping on a guitar cable in bare (or stocking) feet (ouch!). Also, stepping on a pedal with one of the small, round switches would hurt as well, or else necessitate some serious aim with your big toe.

I did read about one bassist who uses some kind of pad or mat that he sends his signal to, and then feels that through his bare feet as he plays. May have drums going through there, too.

Wow!

I must be the last guy in on the joke...

So you guys have no issue playing barefoot? (he asked before realizing he'll only receive a wise guy response :D)

The trend seems to be throwing a nice rug out into the stage and then everyone in the band has the option of going barefoot. I have seen this often over the last few years.

From Pink Floyd: Live at Pompeii. Dave is clearly barefoot and using a wah, possibly a slide also. I remember this so clearly; that Dave was barefoot through this outdoor shoot. Very un-Floyd performance as they regularly used props/gimmicks in their concert hall live shows. Doing so without an audience to entertain you get a no-******** performance, my favorite live Floyd just before DSOTM came out.

Maybe I should have posted this on the Strat site, but barefoot he is. I rest my case.

When I worked in watersports and spent most of my life barefoot I also played barefoot. I always check the service I plug into barefoot or shod.
Since I started my own business and have to wear shoes/boots I have developed girly feet. I can’t walk on rocks or any heavily textured surface with out shoes.
Somewhere I have a 6x4’ rug that I typically stood on.
