Arrived this morning. Real quality piece of kit, and excellent company to deal with.

In the box came the pickups, well padded and separated, with a packet of .010 Rotosound strings, a plectrum, a sticker, wiring instructions. You can also see the leather BK strap I got too.

The pickups were - neck (chrome cover, non-aged, with 4 way switch mod) and bridge (flat pole, non-aged). They can be aged, RWRP neck, with or without 4 way mod, uncovered neck, gold, nickel, chrome etc...

Look forward to getting the guitar back together today and getting them in. I know they will sound great as their pickups always do:

WOW! What more can I say. It sounded good anyway (2005 American Series USA 2 Tone Ash Tele) but now it has a set of Bare Knuckle Blackguard Flat 50's in it and a 4 way switch.

After stripping the guitar down when it arrived and insulating the control cavity and plate, wiring in the 4 way Custom Shop switch and then installing the pickups etc, the guitar sounds so much better.

It just sound "alive" now! Can't wait to test it out through my live rig tomorrow (based around a Mesa Mark IV).

The pickups are astonishing and the 4 way (and shielding) are well worth doing. The fourth position, with the new pickups gives it a Peter Green tone - brilliant.

Guitar now set-up to play with 9's too.

Here is a quick demo video from my iPhone 4 (made in the time it took to film) - note what happens about half way through...need to sort that!

I just cannot recommend Bare Knuckle pickups highly enough as a company, for customer service and knowledge, pickups for any guitar handbuilt and at a good price. They clean up really well on the volume knob and they are really built to last. Seriously doubt Fenders best would even get close.

I love those without even hearing them. BKP is an awesome company to deal with.

Good thing I watched that youtube vid first, because I was gonna put up that very same link. ; )

Yeah....you just beat me to that vid as well....can't a guy get a break around here. ; )

But seriously though, that playing at the 3 min mark was just awesome. Those pickups seem pretty versatile.

Ta :)

They are very versatile and the demo (as a 2 minute job one take job) does not do them much justice.

A bit like my other Bare Knuckle one take job when the Geoff Whitehorn Crawlers came for my PRS CU24 - also superb pickups...

This demo also has exactly the same amp settings as the pickups in the Tele...on the same amp etc. Slightly higher gain channel towards the end of the demo than used on the Tele though.

Wow....I must say...you came through on the gain. Nice vids.

When I finally break down and get a tele, gonna have to grab a set of those pups.

What's funny now that I mention it...I've got a Flextone III myself. I don't use it as much as I used to because of my new Blackstar ht40 though.

:) You must be cracking...you're here!

I've had the tele only a few days and it'll take a while to settle in but it's certainly great in many respects!

The Flextone III is my practice amp at home - never see my live stuff as it's lives with the band's gear!

Hey...I am here. Gotta get to work shortly, but have a rare free morning. ; )

I really liked those demos. Will have to wait on the tele though, having some more BKP's for one of my strats sent to me....should be here in a week or so.

What ones are you getting?

Good thing is Bare Knuckles are here in the UK so getting the pickups (including build time) is pretty quick :)

I get them pretty quick as well. When I order em, I usually have them within 1 week...and sometimes 5 days. This last set is for a deluxe strat....like your deluxe tele. ; )

I originally ordered Tim's 62's, but overwound to be hotter. However, they lost their magic. So I sent them back for a rewind to the way he normally does them. It's just an awesome sound when you hear it. I have Lollars in the deluxe now, but they will get transplanted into my latest custom ash strat build.

My bad....I should really learn to read posts before commenting.

You are correct though, that's a nice guitar. Deluxes are overrated usually, but I got one of the really good ones and for a pretty decent price. ; )

Received a PM asking for another High Gain demo so, evil as it is to use a tele for this, here is a quick recording of the first section of Slayer - Spill The Blood, which amply demo's how flexible these pickups are. Three gigs down with these pickups and they are incredible and will play EVERYTHING!

Same gear as other demo's - Line 6 Flextone III, Soldano type amp, no effects (other than reverb and a bit of chorus at the start) but the overdrive is the amp.
