Been a busy week....missed this one.

    So sad.

It sounds like he was an incredible person to work with and know.

    He is missed.

I am sorry to hear this news. Barbrainy was our forum comedian and a talented man. There will be a hole left we cannot fill. Rest in peace Andy.

Echoing the welcome, Sara. Andy recognized how unique and positive this forum is, which really made it a welcoming home for anyone willing to abide by the rules, and keep it positive and welcoming. He did not hesitate to pull people up short when he saw the rules or spirit of the forum violated.

So, everyone's welcome here, we are terribly under-represented by folks of the female persuasion, and of course, Andy's friends are our friends. Despite Metecem's threat. . . Uh, I mean promise, we will treat you better than Brainy. He freely admitted that Rick bashing was one of his favorite pastimes.:D

Didn't see this coming. How deeply sad that someone so funny and clever - and who was such a source of inspiration to so many, including me - can have another side to them that causes this outcome. Life is full of twists. :(

I am so sorry for your loss, Sara. You obviously realise now how special he was to us. I'm mostly a lurker here but you can bet there are probably hundreds of people just like me who read and appreciated his posts - but you never see them because they don't post.

Hope to see you around here in the future!

I just came across this sad news this morning, appropriately as I sit at church awaiting my son to finish his worship band duties at the high school church. I only knew Andy through the pages of this forum, but I appreciated his advice many times, and enjoyed watching him bring his creations to life.

May he rest in peace, and I pray his family and friends are comforted through this tragic time.

Sara, so sorry for your loss. I will sorely miss Andy's advice, his example of persistence, and humor. He had a talent for making the truth hilarious.

Many thanks for your thoughtfulness. One of the very finest things about this forum are the posted adventures of the brave and hardy band of luthiers and sawdust makers, among whom barbrainy was a sterling example. We all have learned so much from their adventures.

May he rest in peace and please know that our thoughts and prayers are with you.

I have succumbed to mental illness in the last year. I have been through some tough times in life but for a "normal" guy to not be in control, and it not to be a physical issue it horrible.

I'm 48 years old, and trying to dig myself out of this situation, where I know realistically I would have shrugged my shoulders and moved on in former days, my message is, we as men think we need to be strong and work through things, but, we do need to reach out and ask for help.

My sincere condolences, it's a terrible loss.

So sorry for your loss Sara. I've been off the forum for a bit so I just saw this. Andy was a great guy and I really enjoyed reading his witty posts. Thinking of you from Canada.
