LOL, I hear the rock salt going into Uncle Prunius' shot gun now. Anyway, the Psychotic pup was wound with one fabricated 2x tall Gibson-style slug bobbin in the bridge-most position to approximate a Tele coil. It was loaded with matched gauss A2 rods and wound with 42AWG. The other bobbin is a stock Gibson style slug bobbin loaded with matched gauss A2 rods and wound with 45AWG wire to somewhat emulate a gold foil pup. They were designed to stand equally well on their own. As for when they are switched in series, CJ will have to let us know. Stand by.

    What he said
I have the pup situated where the smaller coil (cream) is closest to the bridge... Were you thinking it should be flipped?
    Yes sir!

I've been rubbin and buffin and screwin all morning... By the time I get ready to wire I'm jetting to go watch the Buffalo Bills kill the Ravens... Wiring tomorrow probably, Monday is my Sunday. Word

Dunno, but don't you wipe off all of the buffoon compound when Max shine has been achieved?

Not when you leave the grain open... That white crap gets in there and dries up and looks like a$$

I just got her all flat and buffed a bit with steel wool and lemon oil... Was thinking about throwing a pad in my drill if I found a clear compound.

I'll just leave it, I like the look and feel.

I think I'm ready to start playing with wiring.

I skrewed the pooch when I layed out the pick guard and built it. That's not exactly how I wanted it to sit. I'm moving forward with it as is, the wood contrast is there.

I like this a lot - inspite of that I would still do a small black burst on the pickguard :) But thats just me :) I do like the green on green as well.

    Hey CJ,
Actually it doesn't really matter which way the pup is orientated but the coil nearest the bridge will be twangier, hence maybe you want the black tall coil there to help with the Tele approximation. Try it both ways! It's a grand experiment!

Picked up these White Dick chrome knobs

    image.jpeg

I had to leave for a bit so I couldn't work on the guitar all day like I wanted. I did manage to get her up and running minus the coil splitting. For now it's full buckers. I need to get a different mini switch to do the deed. Gotta be an on /on /on deal... Ill get one this week and play wiring games some more next weekend.

Final pics and demo vids as soon as I grow a pair.

... Robs pup is crystal gold btw!
