I heard this in the grocery store one day and was taken aback that I'd never heard it before--all of those 80's songs were drummed into our ears a million times and are immediately identifiable after the first four bars, but here was one with all of the stylistic traits of those songs, but without the immediate familiarity. I had to go home and look it up.

I thought Texas is the Reason came from a Lift to Experience song (“These are the Days”), but the date of the band’s founding precedes the Lift song. Turns out it’s from a line in a Misfits song (“Bullet”). Thanks, Wikipedia.
