Steppenwolf (novel by Herman Hesse).
Central Texas based Bubble Puppy (Hot Smoke & Sassafras) got signed to ABC /Dunhill with the help of Steppenwolf bassist, Nick St. Nicholas.
They changed their name to Demian, another Herman Hesse novel.
They had a marginal hit with Face The Crowd.
Great guitar playing on that record.

The top two pics are BP, the last two are Demian.
Same line-up.
Apologies for the one tiny pic.

Not a band, but a clothing store that put out some compilation albums…1990’s/early 00’s, iirc?

“Atticus”, based on Atticus Finch from To Kill a Mockingbird.

They had a dead bird in their logo.

The Airborne Toxic Event

Haven’t listened to the band but I know from their name it refers to the Don Delillo book “white noise” I had the pleasure of reading for not 1 but 2 English courses in school.

There is, or was a prog rock band called 'Quatermass', named after the BBC TV serials from the 1950s.
In order of serials
The Quatermass Experiment (1953).
Quatermass II (1955).
Quatermass and the Pit (1958 - 1959).
Quatermass (1979 a Euston films production).
All but the final serial was remade by Hammer films, also in the 1950s and 1960s.
