    Well.

Just a lovely evening reading on the balcony, and I’ve got an audience.

Do regular birds get embarrassed around hummingbirds? Do they think “hey now that guy sitting there drinking beer wonders why can’t I fly backwards and dart in any direction like a UFO!” And so they just sit there hoping you won’t notice them.

They’re probably just more worried that the hummingbirds will beat them up. Hummingbirds are badass.

Not included: pics of floatplanes taking off and landing. If anyone tries to make me leave this apartment, it’s gonna get ugly. Big time ugly.

So, are those nets designed to catch floatplanes?

But hummers can't sing. That's a biggie right there - that's what birds do. Does anybody ever wake up cheerfully to an annoying vibration 2 inches away from the eardrum?

    Someday. Patiently, I wait…

Sing? Maybe not “sing” exactly, but they are some serious vocalizers. They are far louder than their size would suggest, and they have a LOT to say!
