too thick for my hand, I'm not used to the big thick U on a 9.5 inch radius, I guess it would be almost OK on a 7.25 radius (with that said I prefer the Soft 57 V in 7.25), what I like MOST is the way a 9.5 to 10 inch radius in modern C feels and plays. Most of my necks are 9.5 C's in medium or modern C and love Jumbo to medium jumbo fret wire. The only deep U I own is on the Triple caster and I refuse to remove it because it came on it (it also adjusts at the body and has to be removed to be adjusted (but being a hunky U it seldom needs adjustment). It's one of those guitars that gets admired more than played. DSCN0850.JPG DSCN0857.JPG DSCN0860.JPG

The neck from my Triple Tele is now on my '13 American Standard. I really like the U shape and mine only measures .84 @ the 1st which is more of medium U. I didn't know if I'd like the 9.5 radius and vintage frets but that neck is really comfortable and gives a little more 'feel' than the med jumbos that originally came on the AmStd.

Bonus points as I'm far more fond of vintage tuners and vintage style head stock decals!

Yeah, a lot of confusion about the necks on the Triple Tele and the Ash body Baja and 95% of the fault is mine. I screwed up. I had been talking about how the FSR model "Mid Boost" Tele (alder body, silver or sunburst) had the 50s Baja neck but then I started thinking the Triple Tele did too, and that's just an unforced error on my part. I apologize.

I’m getting that new man salmon Vintera 50s Tele if it has a big ol neck. I hope it’s lacquer too. I never bought a Baja because I didn’t need the S1, and I went for the 50s Lacquer for my first Tele.

Say Vintera enough times you forget about it being ridiculous and right out of Newspeak dictionaries.

I didn't realize the triple tele had such a cool neck. Else I would have grabbed one when they were clearing them out.

Not sure if I should go buy one or just make a Tele with a 4-way switch. I was never a fan of the out of phase sound, though.

I would think $949-$999 will be the price.

Here’s my uneducated opinion on what will happen. The Baja will disappear and come back with what Fender calls upgrades; whatever they may be. Same thing happened with the Deluxe Nashville Tele. Upgrades? That’s definitely a matter of opinion. What will happen is a $799 guitar will go up to $1100 - $1300.

Maybe so. From the European pricing that was leaked, it does look like the Vintera series will get a price bump, and that there are “modified” Vintera series models that are priced slightly higher still — which I’m guessing will fall into that range you mention.

I don't think it will go up quite that much - I think they'll keep them under the American Performers (at $1,100) so it will probably be $1,000 for the "Modified" (Classic Player replacement) and/or "lacquer" (Classic Lacquer/Road Worn replacement) ones and $900-$950 for the "regular" (Classic replacement) ones.

    Probably a correct assumption.

I'm actually selling my 2006 desert sand Baja; if anyone is interested.

Yep, the new Vintera '50s is basically a renamed Baja '50s with a higher price.

Any major differences between the 50's Baja and 50's Vintera?
Will I regret my Baja purchase now? ;)
