Hi everyone!

So i am having some trouble choosing a guitar pedal (overdrive).

I play mainly blues and a bit of rock, im looking for a pedal with rich harmonics and that can give me a warm singing lead tone.

My current setup is a fender blues junior III with a Fender baja telecaster, im looking for a pedal that can sound killer at bedrom level or a small gig.

I whas thinking on these pedals;

- MXR GT OD
- MXR Badass modefied OD
- Maxxon OD 808
- TC Electronic MojoMojo
- Boss od3
- Boss Blues Driver

All replies are welcome, opinions on the pedals or maybe some other pedal recomendations.

Cheers!

Used Boss Blues driver is a nice start.. used Boss pedals are a great way to get pedals cheap and if you don't like em you can just sell them off and buy something else. Id get a delay too.. great for home volume levels..

I have the same setup. Tele, Blues Junior III - the Tubescreamer doesn't work for me with the BJ, really kills the tone makes the amp sound even boxier. (though it does work through my AC30)

Weirdly I bought a TS clone from Boo pedals in the UK and it really works well with the BJ, warm and wider. And much cheaper!

I mentioned Wampler Clarksdale in the welcome thread. If DrBanana is right about tube screamers and a Blues Jr III, then even the EQ may not save it.

The Wampler is $199, so not a cheap choice either.

I use a Full tone full tone 2 for my blues jr./ tele setup. Great overdrive pedal with several nice options.

GT-OD sounds great but doesnt clean up well, and mine died after 2 years. Currently I run a Mi-Audio Super Blues Pro and a Barber Direct Drive for my dirt, 52 Avri Tele -> BJ. The Mi Audio is a modded TS, with a boatload of options and sounds. The barber has that warm singing tone and can nudge into marshall territory. Both great pedals

I have used the MXR Modified OD inbetween a Tele and a Blues Jr. Sounded great, especially with the bump on and bridge pickup. Great for power chords, rock leads and such. Add some delay in the mix, and you'll have a nice lead sound.

Blues Jr (NOS) and Deluxe Nashville Tele. I use a Timmy and/or EP Booster.
Sounds like "more" of the amp on the edge of breakup.

Same combination works well with both my Strats, too.

I don't like Boss pedals they sound "digital" to me.

My recommendation is EHX East River Drive or the MXR Badass Modified OD.
Also take a look at Green Rhino from Dunlop.

PS: tambem sou de Portugal mas neste momento resido na Rep. Checa. Bem vindo.

No Klon(e) recommendations yet? A TS style pedal may be okay, but a Blues Junior wouldn't necessary benefit from a big mid-bump like a mid-scooped Blackface amp would. I'd think a more "transparent" OD pedal like a Klon(e), Timmy, Wampler Euphoria (in open mode), or even a Barber Gain Changer would be a good fit.

Personally, I'd be looking at something like a J. Rockett Archer klone or a Euphoria.
