Badlands Biker Bad Boy!

Ok, so it's not easy to be a 'Biker Bad Boy' on a blue Vespa, but that doesn't stop me from heading out on a 102 mile putt down the road for breakfast at Wall Drug via eastbound highway 44 to the Badlands National Park and then up to Wall, SD., then retracing the same route back for a total mileage of around 220 miles.

350 kms for a breakfast is some serious trip, i hoped the breakfast was good !
The pics and scenery are worth it though.
That longhorn bar is something out of the early 1900's or something ?

I gotta get back up that way sometime again soon with the car. I was up there for Sturgis back in 2016 when I had a bike. Now that I'm a car guy, I'm more about drivin' than rallyin'.

Did you do that round trip on a single tank of gas or did you have to refuel? If so that's some serious fuel economy

At 30mph that musta took a while.

The speed limit in Badlands National Park is 25 mph in the dippy curvy parts, and up to 45 in the straighter, open, areas. My speeds were anywhere from 30 to 60 mph.

Yes, I'm a scofflaw....a scooter hooligan...

My speeds on highway 44 going there and back were 60-65 mph 'indicated', sometimes up to 70, though I tried to keep it between 60-70. The speedometer on these things are usually up to 10% 'optimistic', as they say, so some mental recalibration is necessary.

It definitely has a feeble 'Meep-Meep' horn, not much good for getting anyone's attention...though during today's ride, I took note that although cattle tend to ignore it, it can send goats running for the north forty.

I was thinking about buying a herringbone tweed coat, one with the leather elbow protectors, and a bowtie, as proper Vespa riding attire.
