Great video, great band!
A *wonderful* band...ultimately broken by greedy management and tragedy in the extreme.
Hard to imagine what Pete and the boys could've accomplished if they were given a fair shake.

I love their hits, but the band name always troubled me. I could never figure out what badfinger means. Is it sexual? Is it referring to your middle finger? Does anyone know?
My guess is that it is a euphemism for masturbation. Supposedly "with a little help from my friends" had a working title of badfinger boogie because Lennon injured his finger and it was difficult for him to play the piano parts for the song. McCartney liked the name and told Hamm about it who thought is was a great band name. But McCartney was known to drop a sexual reference or 2 in his songs, such as those in Penny Lane.
I had a friend who wanted to start a team for a bowling league back in the 70s. He really liked the name "5 knuckle shuffle" and even had a bowling shirt made with that phrase screened on the back. We finally broke the news to him about what that meant, but not before he had worn it for a week or 2.
Edit: I get in trouble for pointing out euphemisms, which is too bad because they abound on Bad Dog. At least 10% of the thread titles here are euphemisms.

Badfinger was great. I still play some of their music today, including licks that I lifted in the early 70s.
I considered mentioning Badfinger in a previous post about amp wattage and how much was needed to gig. Early in their career Badfinger came through, and played at the TCU Ed Landreth Auditorium. Not a huge place, but good sized. I couldn't go, but several guitarist friends did. They reported that Pete and Tom each used a Vox AC 30, and were PLENTY loud. Many bands of that time would have had two Marshall stacks each. My friends said it was an amazing performance.

I've always liked Badfinger. I remember hearing Come And Get It for the first time and thinking, "wow, that song sounds kinda like Paul McCartney", not knowing anything about the connection. Our band still plays Baby Blue and No Matter What once in awhile - like other old geezers, we figure, who else is going to keep those great old songs alive if we don't? I also agree that the original Without You is superior to Nilsson's great cover hit; it's much sadder and more melancholy.
My duo with my wonderful singing sister Margaret, does No Matter What, Baby Blue, and Day After Day.
She can sing them in the original key.

Im not big into best of type albums but I did get theirs a month or so ago. Timeless stuff
I find humbucking SG’s to be fairly jangly.
I wish I could keep one in tune for more than 30 seconds.

I only have an SG ' sample of one,'
( a 2018 Epi SG Pro- I came to the SG Party late...),
but this guitar can do almost anything tonally! ( coil taps on PAF- range output). Very fun!
