It's not a sure thing, but I suspect that Eastwood may bring this one out next (a 'corrected' version of it however)...

I will post a more accurate illustration of this model soon. The bridge and bridge pickup need to be repositioned, the bevel in the rear body cutout eliminated, and the headstock changed.

Come on John, got to be 'The Great White', if I was any use with photoshop I would do one with
a dark grey top horn fading down to a white belly, pity you have to lose the rear scallop, not only looks good but reminds me of a bite mark!

Say John, I do love these chrome-tastic neo-retro alt-detroit designs, but I was just wondering if you had any stuff percolating upstairs that goes in a very different direction?

It doesn't lose the scallop, just the 'belly cut' bevel it has.

Okay John..... how about I just send you ALL my money.

Who do I have to ..... er.... inflate to get an Archer?

Also, I am pimpin' your Eastwood stuff on my blog (readership approx 5) especially the Marz 6, I expect that will make just about zero impact on your sales for 2018.

If I can drum up any interest in your guitars, I will. I find them fascinating and wonderfully different from what you see for sale at GC and SA and 99.9% of the local guitar shops.

    Different = Good

But getting Mr John Q Public to see that AND open his moth eaten wallet.... that is an uphill struggle.

It's considered a success if Eastwood can sell as few as twenty-five of any one of my models worldwide during one of their crowdfunding efforts. To be honest, I'm always kind of amazed (and very appreciative) that they even bother with them.

Once the period that any one of my guitars being crowd-funded is over, which is usually several months, that's all that will be made of that model, other than a small number of them retained over the guitars sold through pledges. So it's not like they will be stock items that Eastwood continues to offer. They may re-introduce one or another later on, but that's only a guess on my part.

There will never be very many of 'my' guitars built in any case.

well, a movie director could make a movie in a new kind of world with your designs. a kind of flash gordon, ore better a feel good movie because that is what your designs do
    feel very good!
by the way, guitars, maybe a idea to use stratlike bridges on some models like those of musicmann ore the G&L asat.
i never get used to the lesspaul like bridges
maybe design a guitar around that kind of hardware?

I would suggest mounting the output jack on the backside of the body using a slightly recessed Strat jack. That bevel is a critical design cue and I wouldn't want to lose that.

Ok, here's what I hope will be the final version of the Backlund model 1200 'Capri' guitar design.

1.The nut-to-12th fret-to-bridge measurement has been corrected, moving the bridge and pickup locations rearward, and modifying the pickguard plate.

2.The bevel cut previously in the rearmost body 'bite' has been eliminated to accommodate the width needed for the cable hack.

    3. Block fretboard inlays replace elliptical inlays.

    4. A different headstock from the first concept rendition of this design.

I like the changes to the headstock(and the correct scale length). Not really a fan of losing the bevel or the elliptical inlays. But still a beautiful design.

If the bevel can be retained and still have the body depth to accommodate the cable jack, I would try to keep it a feature on any production examples that might follow.

I like the idea of a Strat output plate on the back of the guitar. I have one inside the lower point of an Offset V, Peavey VORTEX V EX
