A variation with more funk and less patience. Still not happy but oh well
Thanks, Mike. Really nice fade in on the intro of your take. Definitely a different take on a funk track driven by your use of reverb and the whammy bar(30 sec mark, ex). Cool!@Alan L Cole - Love the visuals with the air guitar . Lovely theme and playing.
Ya know...some of these tracks are so good that all I hope to accomplish is not to funk 'em up...
Thanks once again @Mellencaster
Thanks! I just need to practice and close the gaps between positions on the neck. Progress is just a bit slow, that's all. And I missed the beat, a few times.@Len058 : this one may sound more like funk (I am no expert on this), but I wished I could say something to change your lacking happiness.
It's just a strat neck pickup through Tukan's Guitar Amp in what I believe is supposed to be a Deluxe sim. I added some compression and some reverb and a touch of tremolo. It sounds like a strat to me. I did seven takes in quick succession and I was going to comp them, but the seventh one was the best, so it's all one take.interesting guitar sound, could also be another instrument
I grew up with this beautiful Man and his family living underneath, while my Uncle and Aunt had the upstairs of a beautiful Spanish style duplex. There’s a bunch of his stuff for free use on YouTube-under the title JamersonShook.
He’s got a bunch of videos/basses and they all sound great.
These were studio guys-heavy weights with low egos. he doesn’t feature his face but sure looks like Ernie McDaniels to me-My uncle was not a slouch either, He played with the Doors, Elvis both Costello and Presley, The Association, just They got simple tones that are timeless usually out of a P or similar bass and a lot of old Ampeg amp in the cabinet B15? ‘s, or whatever.
I hear my uncle just moved to Texas, back in the states after being out in Scotland and Germany for a good while, besides his service which I think was also overseas in the Navy, Way back when he was young, and sadly Ernie passed on but he’s left us tons of videos. And check out his discography he’s on Great albums with stellar people, all the way down the line to playing on the teddy Ruxpin motorized bear tapes.
These guys really dug playing but you never heard them talk about it. They would still regularly play at a little dive in LA or Hollywood…I think I remember hearing my uncle lost his old 62P bass in the Watts riots?
Anyway I just thought of it because Ernie is playing through a simple preamp and sounds great, just through my crappy iPhone.
Did they confiscate all your Telecasters as evidence?I will not be pushed, filed, stamped, indexed, briefed, debriefed or numbered![]()
They let me keep my Squier Bass VI.Did they confiscate all your Telecasters as evidence?
Thanks Mike for another fine BT.
Done with the AO 60's LPB that is my current fave.
Respect and thanks to all who posted. I listened first this time and it may
have influenced my take, but it's hard for me to tell.
I loved the different takes as everyone has different phrasing to this.
There are some very seriously gifted musicians amongst us. (Not me)
Done with the new guitar. AO 60s. The Lake Placid Blue makes it sound better
than all of the takes I had with the Les Paul. I tried and so did Lester. He
could not do what that dang tele could, so he shamed himself into his case
to rise another day. Maybe.
Thanks for the listen.

A pond pic of a beaver that visited us last spring.
At 60 something whatever I am I can still remember back to my Mother visiting Some crazy house, it was dark and the music was really loud and sounded great it was Doors and Beatles songs.I like what you did here. Instead of engaging with the old and endless analog versus digital argument, you just said, here's something on YouTube and it sounds great, even on my phone, and it does. I grew up listening to rock n' roll on crappy little transistor radios from Japan. A switch on mine was broken so I had to twist two wires together to turn it on. I still remember the first time I heard the Doors "Light My Fire" on it. It sounded amazing! It probably sounded terrible technically, but I could hear the music in it and the excitement, and that was what counted.
I had no idea those came out in squire model! Now I’m wondering what other low-cost alternatives might there be.They let me keep my Squier Bass VI.
Hey, I finally got around to doing something with this fun track. It was fun to try to play searing leads over it, but in the end I wanted it to stay funky. Playing legato over it reduced the funkiness. Instead, it seemed like syncopated additional rhythmic hooks was the way to go. I added an arpeggiated synth track and then a fairly tight rhythm guitar track that had a couple of short hooks. Check it out--
