Here's my late take after a weekend of camping. Intro is EBow followed by slide on my Strat-Dano partscaster.

bgmacaw The e-bow and slide were quite effective, and dreamy. Lovely version.

I started with a blues tone set on playing blues over this like I've heard some folks do here, but then I played three notes that reminded me of the holiday classic. I'm no fan of holidays but there are some songs that are totally beautiful and became jazz classics.

    And then I come along,
    - I'm the 3rd post from the top of the 3rd page honoring #300. My guitar has 2 sets of 3 strings. I have 3 female cats. They give me the inspiration to think about 3, all day long.

    Haunting, romantic, semi acoustic,
    Lindley-esque. Beautiful.

@bgmacaw : very cool opening with that backwards sounding stuff. Nice melodic slide playing.
@ASATKat : you chose your title well, I can see the open fire when listening.
@telekaster1999 : great tone, and you know how to use it. There are lines of great beauty.

@ASATKat - Sweet interpretation of a classic but I would advise stepping back from the fire if it can be helped and yes, I went there ;)
@telekaster1999 - Very good, like a narrating story.

Thanks. What's weird is even though it sounds like a reverse, the effects settings aren't any different from any other part. The only difference is I cut the volume down a bit because the EBow can be a lot louder than regular playing. I'm still learning how to control it better.

A long time friend passed away a few days ago. He was the jam master at a popular open Blues jam for 15 years. He blew harp and sang well. To the northern California blues community he was known as Goose.

I'm not playing a blues here but I'm channeling my feelings. We would sometimes play a jam like this. And thinking how Goose would be telling me to "turn down".

@Len058 Some nice bluesy lead, and excellent sounding mix.

@bgmacaw very pretty slide work, gave the track an etheral/spacey vibe.

@ASATKat Very melodic and the layers you built up gave it an added complexity. Very cool twist on an old standard.

@telekaster1999 Nice dynamic playing with really beautiful tone and we'll composed.

@SbS I like how you built up the energy of your playing to a peak and resolved it nicely.

@ASATKat A very nice tribute. I'm sorry for your loss.
