Here a track for this week. Enjoy
Here's my quick take. I faded it out at just over 3 minutes. Gear is Muslady headless kit (Artec Crusader bridge), Peavey Hotfoot Distortion, Hotone Binary Amp (Matchless Chieftain model), Hotone Binary IR Cab (Hiwatt 4x12 IR + room IR), Ammoon PockEcho (reverse echo setting), extra reverb in Audacity.
I didn't notice it was over 5 minutes. Thanks Mike it was fun.
Solid fuzz tone sits right in there.
Also a quick take. Strat neck pickup.
@knh555 - A sad melody and a great tone.
@Mjark - Kind of a harpsichord tone. Nice! Tremolo or phaser? Nice arpeggios. Then a more Gilmourish tone and style.
Tele with a variety of pickup selections
bgmacaw- Sweet melancholy tone and lovely Gilmourish bends, fits the track nicely
Mjark- Very nice intro. Lovely tone all through sweet melody and phrasing were patiently played.
guitarsophist- Tone is quite nice, lovely lines that tell a tale.Nice!
VERY Pink Floyd'ish! Love it!
Very nice "feel" for the music, Mjark.
Thanks, I try with varying degrees of effort I guess, to come up with ideas that fit within the backings stylistically as well as musically.
Mine is mostly neck too. Nice melodies.
- really cool. You put some thought into this one.
It's what Fender calls Vibratone on the Vibro Champ XD.
I have a Super Champ XD, but it has been in a closet for a long while because it is too loud for the condo I live in. It's a nice amp though. Almost everything I do these days is recorded direct into the interface and sent through amp models in Tonelib GFX. On this one I tried several Marshal models, but ended up going through an AC30 with a bit of tape delay. I am not much of a pedal guy, but some of the modeled pedals in this Tonelib setup are pretty nice and I have been working on learning to use them. They add a little interesting spice sometimes.
The speaker on mine isn't even plugged in. I use the DI into my USB box.
Isn't that hard on the power tubes? I thought that tubes needed a speaker load or they would get damaged. I had a Crate VC508 once and I disconnected the internal 8" so I could hook it up to a 12" cabinet, but I forgot to plug in the cable to the cabinet. All I could hear was a funny noise from the back of the amp, which turned out to be something arcing. Fortunately, I didn't fry the amp, but I think I would have if I hadn't realized my mistake. But maybe the XDs have more sophisticated circuitry.
I've been using it this way for a couple years of years. I even forget to turn if off for days at a time as it's under my desk and can't even see it. I have haven't had any problems but I wouldn't do it with a real tube amp.
Strat into a Microcube into Apogee Jam
@bgmacaw- Sounding very Gilmourish with nice tone and bends.
@Mjark- Interesting intro tone and very apt, beautiful tone when you dug in.
@guitarsophist- Strat neck pickup sounds great here and nice lines throughout.
@Mellencaster - That was a great listen with sweet lines and tone.
Quacky dirt and nice phrasing. Space is good.
