My first decent (i.e. non-Japanese finger-shredder) was a black 1970s Telecaster Custom. I had to sell it around 1980 when things got tight. Things aren't so tight anymore, and I figured it's time to go back to the future! Haven't had a chance to photo it, but I have played it and it sounds even better now than it did through the Pignose I had back then. My stalker at SW sent me the photos - here are a couple in all it's CBS-era finery!

I used to have the same exact Tele and year. I sold it as I didn't really know how to use the tone knob like I do now. Those 1970's Teles were awesome.

Here's mine I got new in '76. I did some upgrades but kept all the original parts. Di Marzio Super Distortions, brass hardware and tuners. It's a mean rock n roll machine!
