Lately I've been spending quite a bit of time playing "Dance With Me" by Orleans. I found a great tutorial on Youtube demonstrating a killer instrumental rendition of this classic song and wanted to learn it. I was struggling with the speed of some of the changes and was having a hard time slowing myself down until I thought DUH....use a metronome dummy!! Found one online and what do you know ....... I slowed down enough to make the learning easier. It's been so many years since I've felt the need to use one that I felt rather silly when it occurred to me it might help.

Tools like a metronome are essential at any level for playing with others. I had to give mine to a 93 year old fiddle player to get him to slow down.
