Well ok, it's from a kit so it's more of an assembly than a build but I've admired them for a while.
I found these kits a month or so but they've been out of stock until today, so I've got one on the way from thefretwire.com.
Sorry, the picture won't upload for some reason.

My real reasoning is to make a set of templates and maybe later build another from scratch with better materials.

I'll post pictures when the kit gets here, probably Thursday.

What the heck is it? It says "parlor" along the side - is it really a parlor sized hollow body electric? What a cool idea.

It's 24.5" scale, just that the body is quite a bit smaller that a Les Paul, semi-hollow.
The real B&Gs are from Israel I believe and run $3-4K. They have started doing some production in Asia but those are still about $1600, thus the $200 kit appealed to me.

I build what I call parlor sized acoustics (Martin size 0) and absolutely love playing them. The whole idea of a small hollow body with short scale just really appeals to me - I'll be watching this. I'll also be interested in your opinion of the fretwire kit - I've heard conflicting things about them.

ps - there is a discussion of parlor guitars at the acoustic subforum right now

From what I see on their website, it looks like a very nice guitar.

I'm interested to see what the guts look like :).

Besides just being cool, I really like their decidedly low-tech construction

Here you go @old wrench .
These are the actual ones, not the kit of course.

    A steel guitar engagment.
I liked these guitars since first seeing them BUT absolutely cannot stand stringing any guitar with that type of headstock/ tuning keys. That slotted finger poking crapazoid headstock design needs to disappear and to never return. Carry on, just too nice a' guitar to ruin with that feature.

Have never lived with one so not too aware of the issues, but I can see would be interesting to change strings on . I love the look of a slotted headstock though.

Yeah, I would have done one on my current build but it just seemed like more work!

Kits at thefretwire.com, but apparently they sell out pretty quickly.

Yeah, those B&G guitars are their own kind of cool... and it is super cool. Their shop videos make me want to relocate to Israel and become an apprentice.
