Over the years I've thought about this coming some day. Nobody did it like Riley B. King. I'm honored to have shaken his hand. I will honor him in my own little way.

Thanks, BB. May you rest in peace.

Jeez just read the press release. He's a total legend and contributed a lot to blue and guitars. Saw him at the casino a few years ago it was a pleasure to see him play.

Not entirely unexpected but still very sad news. So glad I got see him in concert some years ago.

R.I.P. and thanks for all the great music.

Like a broken record I will say it - if you haven't heard the Kent and Crown stuff, and everything pre-66-ish or so - you haven't heard BB.

More influential than anybody, including T-Bone.

One of the saddest days in music. I am glad that I had the opportunity to see BB a number of times. If ever there was an expression of what "tone" is, he showed it. RIP and thank you for some great music.

Even though Live at Cook County Jail was my first taste of BB, the Kent and Crown stuff I enjoy most.

    RIP... You'll be missed.

BB always performed with a love for his audience and the music. He played with soul and conviction. Like every show was going to be his last show.

    IMO, he had no rivals.

He was the KING OF THE BLUES...

    and a whole lot more.

    RIP, Blues Boy.

We must take a moment of each day to reflect upon the past and those who have influenced us. I never listened to B.B. King all that much, but I have listened to countless bands that were influenced by his music and style.

He did not simply define the blues. He defined so many different genres. So many bands. So many albums. They truly carried back to the King of Blues. I sadly never got a chance to see the man. I guess he was before my time. This however doesn't mean much to me, as I can hear his influence every day in any form of music I may listen to. He pushed music foreword into a new era.

If a guitar has ever cried, that guitar would be Lucille. If a man was ever to make a guitar show enough feeling to stop someone in their tracks, it was B.B. King. King, you will never be forgotten. Rest in Peace.

    Amen.

I got a chance to talk to him in 1972. During those quiet moments he was a true gentleman. It was unforgetable for me.

His impact on the music world was enormous.

It was time for him to put his burdens down but he leaves the world a sadder place because of his passing.

To quote Neil DeGrasse Tyson, "Curious fact that any time we lose a person who sings the Blues, as we just did in BBKing, the World becomes a sadder place."
BB inspired me to pick up the guitar and get serious. I never did master "The Hully Gully Twist" instrumental 45RPM record that my sister played (it was a B-side).
    RIP B!
