It was on the cards, but still a shock.
RIP Mister Blues.
I guess it was expected given his recent health problems and age but it's still very sad news. He was one of the true greats and originators and will be sorely missed. The next Crossroads DVD won't be quite the same without him.
It's not an overstatement to say that pretty much every guitar player owes something to him.
RIP to a great man.
Join me, music and American blues-loving friends, in paying tribute to the great B.B. King by playing "Live at the Regal" and "Live in Cook County Jail" with me...I've already begun spinning them...
It's a sad day for music, friends. B.B. King was in the pantheon of the greatest blues guitarists ever, and played 330 shows a year for four decades. It seems like American music owes him a lot!
I have joined you. I'm on the bus home listening to Live at the Regal on my headphones.
Played till the end - died with his boots on
One of the greatest ever
B.B. King w/ Lucille and Orange amp
A fave photo.
Thanks for all the music and R.I.P.
B.B. King, Live in Cook County Jail
How blues can you get?
I am speechless. I grew up listening to BB King and Gary Moore. They shaped me as a player and inspired me to still learn - no matter what your age is.
RIP BB King.
He was a good and honorable man.
Godspeed, Mr. King.
Amen, What an inspiration t us all. RIP sir
B.B.King had all those adjectives, mojo, cool etc. Most of all he had a sound.
Hope he's leading a big jam somewhere and they're all
gettin' joy out of his arrival.
Rest in peace oh great one.
Have to admit I shed a tear when I read the news. It's like a piece of the earth has fallen away.
I'm saddened, won't be the same on Beale Street without the King & Lucille.
I am at a loss for words save for RIP Riley. You gave us all so very much of yourself
Does anyone know when BB's last public performance was?
What an amazing life he had. RIP
He did indeed give us so much..me..much...When i was an youngster I played his records forever to learn lead notes..and the air between. ..rip BB
