Wow, pretty interesting. I recognize Midnight Oil and The Saints, but not any others.

For the record, my fave Australian bands:

    The Church
    The Birthday Party
    Nick Cave
    The Go Betweens
    Split Enz
    AC/DC

As a youth, we did have the Men At Work “Business As Usual” LP as part of the family record collection which I quite liked back then, too.

Oh yeah, of course I’ve heard of ‘em. Must’ve missed them on the list the first time around.

There, there now. All is back in order with the world again. You can breathe a huge sigh of relief knowing that yes, the entire world does indeed know of INXS. Phew.

Very cool pub flyer. It reminds me of Austin in 1981 when I used to see Stevie Ray Vaughn and Charlie Sexton at the Continental Club for a $3 cover charge. Charlie had to be escorted with his mom for he was a minor.

Would have loved to see INXS & Midnight Oil in a small pub!

I grew up upside down from you in Atlanta. And most Tuesdays we could see REM for a few bucks. Paid a lot more than that to see the Oils.

Pretty sure that '70s flyer is from 1980.

They would have made a great rock band - Boys In Town and Siren are very solid "ROCK" songs.

I don't know if it was because "1980's" or if Mark McEntee just wanted to make easy money (look no further than the disastrous attempt at replacing Chrissy for that answer), but the band they eventually became just... well, they were terrible. Comparatively.
