we won the neighbours’ tree, I wonder if she wants it back? Thats about all apart from small bits of tree debris. It can stay there for the time being.
A friend has lost his fence for the 4th time, it was a fibro type, he’s going to replace it with a colourbond one with decent post. The trouble is everything is built on sand and when it gets wet it’s useless at holding up fences in a wind.

We don't have boundary fences out here in Leschenault, just chain link, but we have a colourbond fence that runs along the roadside more for privacy which is core drilled into the limestone retaining wall. We're down the back of a hill so we don't cop the major brunt of any winds, generally most storms come through we can stand in the backyard and it'll be a gentle breeze, go out onto the road and it'll be full force gail.

got it back from the auto spray, this is a Mazda colour, saw a car and liked the colour so asked the owner and we had a look at the manufacturers plate and got the paint number.

It's a pine top with a 33% 33% 33% mix of mahogany stain, cedar stain and the thinner mixed together, then black burst on the outside. I was trying to achieve a brighter red but could not find anything, and just couldn't work out how to get the mix together properly so went with that.

I had a red burst on a guitar about 60 years ago, it went from black on the sides to a deep red in the middle, the sprayer really nailed it, The same model (Jansen NZ) had a period of really good bursts for a while then they suddenly went to very different finishes so I suspect the guy who was spraying moved on.

This is very unlike you guys to not post something here for nearly a month. What's up, cat got your tongue?
I was thinking the same thing this morning!

Let me take this opportunity to let y'all know that I haven't seen a live band for at least 2 years, but I'm gonna have my cobwebs blown out tonight by Midnight Oil at the Hordern Pavillion, there final show of their final tour.. Getting my earplugs ready..

Wow that's amazing. I was just reading my FB feed and a friend of mine posted about this gig, now I come back here to find you are actually going.

I didn't know they still did shows at the Pavlova. I hope they get the sound right as I've had less than optimal experiences there over the years due to the sound quality.

Please report back and tell us all about it.

I'll certainly give you a report. There's no opening act, so i expect they'll play for 3 hours or more.
My first ever live gig was at the Pav, LRB, and they were far more rock than I expected!

Haven't been to the HP since this gig, 30 years ago. I was working for Bob and Pete's as a driver delivering their pastries thru the Cross and CBD Sunday mornings, "Bob" is here on the clip (Mi-Sex manager) and the fella who ran the bakery was Don Martin, also in this clip (RIP).

Nice little time capsule
