Paul and his mates are very happy.

A podium finish at Bathurst ...Yay.

    3rd in class C and 25th overall.

Running and finishing at Bathurst is a great result, the track is challenging and Conrod eats engines.

Well done them, wish I had been home to watch.

Bathurst is also a track made for LHD because it runs anti clockwise so most of the apex's are in the driver's eyeline and most of the walls are on the unpopulated side of the car

why didn't the early rhd racers go the other way around bathurst originally?.. if being on the inside was a better racing position..

Being on the inside is good when you and the wall become intimately related due to your sudden and totally unexpected lack of talent.

One of the fathers of Oran Park worked for me at one stage and he told me their first meeting was spent debating which way the circuit would run, it ran anti clockwise.

Lakeside, Winton, Wakefield Park and The Bend all run clockwise, Eastern Creek runs anti clockwise.

Haven't run on the others yet so NFI.

Currently building a new car ( Fisher Fury ) so I can go faster :D

I watched the whole race pretty well... I spent the arvo looking for car 84 or any mention of class positions and never saw the car.. shame that..

it was a 6 hr class race not a one class sprint, all the action wasn't at the front for all concerned. I thought the TV team forgot about the other classes and concentrated on the front runners...

Likewise Trev. Never spotted Paul's car once.

The only update was an occasional table across the bottom of the screen showing full field positions.

@HoodieMcFoodie it looks like I'll be in your fair city for work for a few days from the 16th, I'll be rather busy, but we should catch up, it's only been about 30 years?

A blast from the past. just found these on the tube.

I got back from a few years OS in '79 and about mid year I went down the gold coast to live with one of my travelling mates. The closest pub we could walk to From Nobby's beach was the Miami hotel, that's where we found ourselves most friday nights...
The house band through the next 6 mths or so was The Strand a mix of local guys with a young Jeremy Oxley as the front man guitar player... he smoked us with amazing guitar playing every night. They had a bunch of songs they played often some were covers others I just assumed they wrote them having never heard them anywhere else...

took me years to find out some of them were covers... like Passenger- Iggy Pop and Police car- Larry Walls...

some of the songs ended up in the Sunny Boys first LP later on...

just found a few songs from the Miami pub on a night I would have been there.... brings back some cool memories of that time..

That'll clear those hippy surfers off the dunes at Kalbarri.

Looks like a much bigger town there these days and it copped a flogging... sad to see..

I hope they all cleared out off the coast before the storm... quite an unusual system with the double Lows joining together... never seen that before..

Didn't get mine when I was in Tamwurf last October. Does that mean I get two when I next visit?

We copped about 60mm of it on sunday down here in SW. Usually we don't get that much rain, but those pressure systems up there and another that came up from antartica just dumped for the full day, no wind just constant rain.
