Looks like your going to get some Monday and Tuesday, same for us. Bit of a bummer (pun intended) as I’m heading down to Lismore for the 3 yearly internal plumbing inspection. Could be an interesting drive down and back.

Which reminds me Thin Lefty ( Richard ) hasn't posted here for a while and he does live on the banks of the Woronora river which is prone to flooding

well the bass went OK, typical guitar player in that I tend to overplay. But settled down kept it simple. No body complained or chucked bottles.

2 inches of rain here overnight.... and we're missing the worst of it....there's a lot more north and south of here when looking at the radar all day yesterday.

developers should be shot for building new estates in known flood zones....

“not their problem” wasn’t flooded when they sold it and as long as they continue to give money to political parties nothing will change.

In the past Qlders build houses up on stumps for this very reason. When the southerners all came up they thought they were quaint but wanted brick and tile on a ground slab..... near rivers, etc...

    stupid people...

To allow for air circulation under the floor to help with cooling ( I thought ) to get above flood level was just a bonus

I went to school in Murwillumbah , nth nsw .
    Cane country under mt Warning.
Every few years the tweed river would flood and we’d get a day or two off school. Most older places where in the qld elevated style to cope with flooding. Well after a few years of no floods the folks make granny flats down below and deck em out real nice.
About 3 yrs back Mother Nature cleaned all that out.

that too, I guess, Dave, not every house was in a flood zone.....

verandas around the sides to provide shade/protection was another aspect...

hey, land is so expensive why waste the ground under the house?.... a lot of useful space under there...

This rain should fix up the mice. Steady rain here all night, 70 mm in the gauge so far. Postponed my plumbing inspection as the road from here down to the coast is prone to flooding, landslips and fallen trees. Looking at the way the Clarence and Wilson rivers are rising I think I made the right decision.

they don't call it the northern rivers district for nothing,,, I'll bet they're all over flowing now.
