That's the kind of water I like, the frozen stuff on the side of a mountain. I'm not much of a surfy!

Hey Count I'm wondering if you can help me out with something. There's a place up your way called Boonoo Boonoo. How do you pronounce it?

There's a debate raging here in Tamworth (albeit on Facebook) about the pronunciation of the main road south out of here, which is Goonoo Goonoo Road. I don't want to influence your answer by telling you the (possible) pronunciations for the road, but I'm wondering if the same conventions are used for that place up your way.

Boonoo Boonoo is pronounced Bunna Banoo with no special emphasis on any syllable. As far as I know Goonoo Goonoo has a similar pronunciation.

Thanks Count I knew I could count on you.

The raging debate here is the pronunciation of the first word. Is it Gunna or Gunny?

The Tenterfield area overlaps Jukembal and Wudjehbal land both of which are part of the Bundjalung language group.
From all the maps showing tribal lands is looks like Tamworth is part of either the Gamilaroi or Gumbaynggirr language groups so the grammar and pronunciation conventions could well be diferent.

Pronounced Gunny Ganoo. I suspect an amount of inbreeding has occurred to get to this. Where's my banjo?:eek:

Top 10 in each category announced, news was not good for either of us.

Saddle up again and write some more songs for next year

Do you have some insider information?
On their site, top 10 have been decided but not announced.
All I've seen is that they are planning a virtual event.

I don't know where Julie found it but when we had our lunch break yesterday she jumped online and said there were no Black Dogs or Monkeys in the lyric section and no Swaggie in Australiana

bit wet today, sitting here listening to 5 butcher birds sheltering under my back veranda awning singing up a storm. The two young grommets are trying out all their tunes... they seem to love sitting out there when it's raining and singing songs..

sounds like NSW is copping the worst of it... stay safe and dry, you blues..:)
