Laguna Bay looking north from the Noosa Surf club.... brings back so many memories...

as a final request old mate Rod wanted his ashes put in the sea at Johnson's at Noosa.... a fast sand right hander between first point and national park...

so with drinks before and after at the club, a small group wandered along the board walk up the point to find a good spot while we stood in the water as reggie swam the parcel out and nearly caught a body surf using the parcel, went a bit further out and sunk the paper mache box of ashes designed to sink and dissolve...

and that was that.... old mate got his final wish.... snif..

just looking at the radar to see a front coming that passed brisso heading our way.. hour or so maybe...

it's dead silent outside, no crickets or toads chirping away... eerie when I turn the sound down..

Just spotted this on our local buy and sell page, asking price $1500.00. Not bad for a base model guitar that retailed for $599: Screen Shot 2019-12-28 at 12.42.21 pm.png

Yes it is interesting to see what people think used guitars are worth. Most of the lefties I see on ebay are going for more than the original cost.

The irony in all this is that a $300 Chinese acoustic will more than likely sound and play better than this Maton.

Reading the blurb I get the impression that the vendor writes impressive CVs for people.:)

Must have been the last year of bottom of the line M125's they did.
    I have a Maton brochure, from around 1999 - the M125 isn't even listed.
In this brochure, the bottom of the line in their range is the 225 series.

    To be fair though:
    1) it looks in good condition
    2) bidding starts at $599 (with a $1500 'buy it now price')
    3) and ... you get a hard case, a spare machine head (??), and half a pack of Thomastic AC111's, and a pick.

They were only made for one year, 1997, so in that sense they are "rare". The 225 replaced the 125 pretty quickly. I suspect that the pick is pretty rare as well.:D

    So, .... the M125 is basically a rare M225 ?

Probably well worth the starting price IMO (but not the asking price).
Always thought "pick GAS" would be a more cost effective obsession.:):)

That $599 isnn't the starting price as it's not an auction. $599 was the original retail price back in 1997.

Yes it is : check e-bay. $599 starting price, $1500 buy it now. Just coincidence that original price = starting price.

What ... do you think I pluck figures out of thin air??

Edit: It's no longer listed, it seems: probably pulled or sold.

Sorry to have offended you, I took it off one of our local buy and sell sites where it was not listed as an auction just had the selling price of $1500. It has aso been taken off the buy and sell site.
