Last time I was in WA visiting a lady friend in Perth we went on a drive south. She had a market stall and we did a market in Australind, then she dropped me off at a mate's place in Bussleton while she went to visit a g/friend down in Margaret river...

I knew some guys from around Dunsborough, too.. one guy's family ran the bakery there... another guys mum ran a small boarding house in b'ton... late 70's/80's.. we went surfing with them to some then unnamed places ...

    great part of the world..:)

Hasn't got over 5 degrees here all day and the thermometer is out of the wind, shudder to think what the wind chill factor is. :(

Had the fire going day and night for the last few weeks, nice and warm inside. Can't get too near the fire though, the dogs sem to think that it belongs to them. Tried telling them that if they want to hog the fire they can carry the wood in and stoke it but they took no notice.

anyway... this just happened, so funny.

I tossed a slice of bread down to the birds at the bottom of the back stairs for a snack before I give the "meat eaters" some mince later this arvo.. I've just fed the "seed/nectar eaters" out the front...

Butcher birds mainly plus a few mickey birds and honey eaters. There's one BBird down at the bread with his foot on it for some grip taking a few bites to eat while the smaller birds are trying to hop in for a nervous bite, chirping and chattering.

I've called down to the Bbird, Hey mate! stop hogging the bread and let the others have a go...they like it more than you do...yours is coming later..

he looked up.. looked back at the bread and started taking little chunks off, proper little match head size bits half a dozen or so, and flicking them toward the other small birds... looked back at me, then continued to eat a few more bites himself in his usual way....:eek:o_O

I'm like?... .No way!.. was that some random messy eating or did he get what I said?...

    Isn't nature wonderful..cheeky buggers..they're watching us, learning our language...
