We had a good turnout at our local Anzac Day march down the main street.

For those who don't venture below to the recording forum my band of old farts Never Too Late have released an album and a couple of singles, the 2nd of which has seen me nominated in the Independent Producer of the year category for the ICMA awards at Tamworth next January

Voting for the ICMA awards is now open so if you enjoyed the song and production values please take the time to vote for me in the Independent Producers section ( audio and video are together so Noel Sadler who produced the clip is in the same category )

    well... that was fun....

did a sailing race Saturday from Manly, Brisbane to Mooloolaba on a mates 35 footer.......

started at high tide 9AM and finished around high tide 12 hrs later... it was rainy overcast with a few squalls the whole way with flukey NW winds.. the worst wind for a trip out of the bay..... stuck in a hole off Caloundra where it took a few hours to go a mile..... then somehow we slowly passed a few guys in those last few hours to the finish.... so we didn't finish last.... we never bothered to go to the club afterwards to see how our handicap time worked out , we may have done ok.... too cold wet and tired to care...slept on the boat at the marina....

it was still spitting off kawana as we neared the river mouth finish line.. then motoring up the river to our dock the sky finally cleared to reveal a starry sky.... that'd be right....

man I'm stuffed today, every muscle in my body is aching.... too old for this shiite...

I second that. Most TDPRIers won't know of him, but this is a tremendous loss to the world of letters and everyday good sense as well.

Met Les once. A very big person, in several senses of the word.

Turns out the missus' family are from his tiny corner of NSW. It's a small world, for such a big world.

race results in.. we came 5th out of a field of 13 yachts... many with more hi tech gear/sails than us,,,,

.. a few of the guys watching us on the water thought we might have been the one to beat on the day, on corrected time ...some consolation.

bar a couple of holes in the breeze and a short squall that had us dropping a headsail through it so it didn't blow out.... putting up a smaller sail only to have the wind drop out and we had to drop that and put the #1 back up.... those small moments where you lose time and speed/course gets you in the end where times can be down to minutes/seconds on corrected time with a handicap rating system so all boats can win if they sail well to their handicap....
