I've signed up with EARSHOT-DISTRO (https://earshot-distro.ca) to get my songs out there. SOCAN (in Canada collects the royalties).
I signed up with CD Baby two years ago to get one song on Spotify, iTunes, Apple Music, Amazon et cetera. It cost me $55 USD and I've made $2.00 so far.
I'm a member of albertamusic.org. I get their newsletter. This is where I heard about EARSHOT-DISTRO. I got a discount coupon so the first song cost me $5.25 CAD and the second cost me $7 CAD. The two songs were quickly/automatically distributed to campus and community radio stations across Canada. Right away I've had 6 listens and two downloads.
My song-writing partner and I are with SOCAN/ASCAP as well.
I'm a wannabe songwriter. Over on my YouTube channel, Jimzie Goulding, you can find the song I put out through CD Baby.
A Good Day's When I Don't Think About Her
by Jim Clayton (me)
There are two many JIM CLAYTONs out there so I've come up with a new handle: (Jimzie Goulding). I'm no relation to Ellie Goulding (maybe waaay back). My maternal grandmother was a 'Goulding' so my roots are in that surname.
Watch the video; it's really informative. EARSHOT-DISTRO, according to the YouTube video, should be in the USofA and internationally.
I'll put up the YT link and attach a photo in case it doesn't work.
There are some guys/gals on here with amazing talent. I figured I'd put this up as a cheaper alternative to CD Baby et cetera and as a means of reaching a wide audience without breaking the bank.
I'll check back later; I have to drive a few 10' steel fence posts today for a new fence and my wife wants a new composting area.
Sorry about the 'repeat' photos, eh. If I go back in and try to edit, I'm afraid I'll probably screw it up worse.
Cheers,
Jim
