Here's a small two-piece mahogany body with a Star Trek/Jetsons vibe...it's getting Steinberger straight-pull tuners behind the tune-o-matic bridge, one volume knob, and one pickup that I'll make for it. I was going to place the tuners in a line at the end of the body and fan the strings out from the bridge, but then discovered I can stagger the tuners in pairs to pull the strings straight over the bridge saddles.

Can you tell I love wacky guitars?

I made a string retainer for the end of the neck from aluminum bar, 3/4" wide by 3/8" thick:

I love the concept, but not sure how I'd fair with the "shark fin," but I'd definitely give it a try:cool:

Am I the only one here that now wants to make a guitar out of a canoe paddle??? :D Between that post title and the various CBGs and shovel guitars I’ve seen lately, it almost seems ridiculous that I haven’t made one already!

None of which takes away from the fact that this looks like a very cool build. I look forward to seeing/hearing the final product.
