I attempted to link that from TDPRI so credit goes where it belongs. Anyway, I thought for $99 someone may like to see this thing up close. The paint job alone would seem worth the price of admission.

Red lipstick sparklecaster. I'd like to see #2 in front of the WWII plane with this baby.

It tempts me, but $100 guitars don't have staying power with me. My Squier '51 (a do-it-yourself sparklecaster) and SX STL62 don't get much playing time. If I thought I'd really play this thing, I'd scrape together the $100. I'm not gonna order it just for wall art.

Interesting - a string through mahogany body.

    well...I caved...I have one coming...

the second strap button alone should be worth the price of admission!

    I'll keep you all informed.

BTW - they have silver and blue...but they are $50 more :(

That looks like a fun $99 guitar.

Please post a couple photos or a simple song.

    Tempting.

I bought one of the Gretsch Americana Cowboy acoustics off the Stupid Deal ad not long ago. It turned about to be a great impulse buy.

Post news when the guitar arrives! Please!!

UPS was dead on. It was here waiting for me when I got home tonight.

As promised, here are some photos.

But we are going to start with this...

Do you think Praxis Musical Instruments would sell straight to me? Cut out the MF middleman?

Pretty standard Pacific Rim shipping box

It came with a GIG BAG!

It might not be a real durable gig bag...but a gig bag it is!

    ;)

Let's take it out in the sun.

    Like somebody else noted...

it is a STRING THROUGH! with a couple of neat plastic coves over something. (For some reason, I am scared to look under them...)

    Nice functional headstock.

Definitely NOT a one piece neck...

It has a serial number, but it wouldn't surprise me if they are all the same. ;)

    The front...

it's sparkly, but it is that mini-flake.

Don't know how "manly" it is...

If you know what I mean!

    Functional bridge...

intonation is WAY off...but what do we expect for a C-note? Action is acceptable. It buzzes on the B string, first fret. That fret might need to get whacked with a hammer.

Don't know what it sounds like,

    but it looks mighty fine.

Later on tonight I'll plug it into a Peavey Windsor Studio and see what it will do.

    More later.

    On a $99 guitar? ;)

I have no expectations at all on the sound.

No way can I be disappointed. :D

Did I mention that it is heavy!

I wonder what that body is made of.

That bridge looks like the one they're using on new Danelectros.

    Nah...

Guitar looks very cool, only weirdness is the plastic panel behind the pickups, surely they could have done without?

MF website says mahogany. That's what seemed unique to me - string-through mahogany body. But for 99 clams I find it hard to believe it's not something else.

This is really incredible - someone posts an interesting new guitar and two days later Buckocaster has one in his hands, posts pics of it, and promises to let us know how it sounds!

I'm going to try this. Hey Buckocaster! I sure am curious about those new Hagstroms. Take a look at this beauty, what do you think? Post pics when you get it ok? ;)
