He was the first named, so, of course that was the idea. But other better names found the girls eventually.

I think I'm more comfortable climbing trees/ladders/scaffolds, lazing around on household furniture, happy to eat canned fish on a regular basis, keeping myself clean..:)

than I would be chasing all manner of objects around, SHOUTING all the time, rolling around in anything interesting that stinks, chewing up footwear, being obsessed with shredding the postman every day ... ;)

Grew up with Cats and Dogs in the household.

Mrs. Guitarhack and I have been together 30 years. Before our current pack, we had three cats that were inside/outside cats. After we lost the last one after he was hit by a car we now keep our kitties indoors only. No cars and no diseases to worry about.

Coco (the brown spotted tabby) we picked up from the SPCA and Rocky (orange and white) was rescued by my youngest son - a kitten running across the street (about 10 years old now).

Amie is a beautiful feral cat that lives in the neighborhood that we feed. She had a litter of two kittens (more on them latter) we caught Amie and had her spayed and released back into the neighborhood.

Our neighbor got the kittens and cared for them until they were ready for adoption (she's a foster mom for feral kittens). Trixie is the Tabbie and Mochi is the Seal point, they are about seven months old now and are super sweet cats.

    About Guitars :

Tigrette : "What's that noise disturbing our quietness ?"

    Black&White : "What's that mess in my garden ?"

So amps and Guitars are not well regarded by our feline mates... o_O

This is Buford T Kitty. He got stung in the eye by a bee. Chasing lizards in the heather got him bee stung. :)

one of my cats used to sleep in my open guitar cases but the lid fell and the point on the latch stick in his paw.he got a bad abscess from that and I had the vet to cut it open and drain it. I don't leave the cases open for them to sleep in anymore cuz its dangerous for kitty's ya know. its cute but they can get hurt if the lid falls on them and can suffocate if they cant get out.. So don't let your cats sleep in your cases unless the lid wont close on them :)

    RIP Oreo

One day before my birthday, many years ago, my wife and youngest son (he was seven then) went out "shopping." When they returned, my son presented me with Oreo. "You need a cat, dad." I'd always had a cat and out last one had to be put to sleep a few months back. My son had save up his money to get his dad a cat. Oreo was probably the best companion cat I ever had. He was my studio cat as well, always hovering and climbing in an open case to sleep. My wife and I were on different shifts so I would go to bed alone most nights. At bedtime, Oreo had a ritual of climbing onto my stomach and getting a face rub. When I nodded off he'd move down and muscle his way in between my calves to sleep. I didn't realize until he was gone that I'd developed cold feet at night. He did well with our dogs until we brought in a pair of labs when he was about fifteen years old. He clearly developed a "I'm too old for this crap" attitude at that point. He retired to the upstairs where the dogs weren't allowed. Oreo went out the way a gentleman would. One Saturday morning he cornered me and demanded I spend a good while loving on him. A couple of hours later I was downstairs and heard a thump. When I went up next he was lying dead on the floor. No muss, no fuss. I miss him.

The Tailor of Gloucester had a cat named Simpkin. Simpkin was a pretty cool cat, but in the end, it was the mice that saved the Tailor’s bacon.

Fortunately for me, I think, the women in my life seem to be charitably inclined towards only cats and dogs. I love the animals, but mostly let the women do the rescuing. One exception was Satchmo, a refugee from Hurricane Katrina. Took him a full 2 weeks to come out of hiding and join the household; I have a few photos somewhere of that first morning. Tragically, he needed to be an indoor/outdoor model, and as best we can figure, Satchmo was snatched by coyotes in Austin.

If I can find the photo of his first morning appearance, I’ll post it here.

This is the Toy Rocky plays with several times daily. He loves the thing! To keep a 17 Year old cat active, we're thrilled!! PS...The noise it makes drives my wife crazy...but she puts up with it. Tuckered him out this last Christmas...he's still at it right now

Big brother Chevy, and little sister Layla, they have such different, funny personalities, She is a very sweet (when she wants to be) but don't touch me, kind of cat, and he acts more like a dog, loves the snuggles and belly rubs. Although I have to be careful when he feels like playing, he's now about 28 lbs...... he can inflict damage.

Ok, I am a dog person; but I know sharp when I have felt them on the past. So I am on my 3rd cattle dog (dog in the movie Mad Max) and have trained them when they were pups, to be very cautious of cats. I do this on purpose because they are one of the most in your face dogs there are. Remember they herd 1000 pound cows & bulls around. Here's a interesting pic of Storm. 20191112_161249~6.jpg
